Native OZ Bushfoods

Native Oz Bushfoods makes a variety of products including, jams, salt mixes and sauces.

Native Oz Bushfoods was founded by Doug and Tracey Goebel. Doug is a proud Aboriginal man from the Bundjalung Nation of South East Queensland (SEQ) and Northern New South Wales. Doug has always had a passion and love for culture, heritage and native bushtukka.
Based in the Ropeley Valley on forty acres originally farming cattle and sheep, due to the drought Doug and Tracey moved out of necessity into the native food industry. Seeing a gap in the market for sustainable native food production. Taking the initiative, they started researching, trialling, harvesting and buying various edible native plants and seeds. This included plants such as the Desert Quandong (native peach), Saltbush, and various edible wattles. Trialling plants they were told would not grow in in SEQ Native Oz Bushfood also now grow Kakadu Plum (Gubinge) and Tasmanian Mountain Pepper. They now have over four hundred plants from forty different varieties of edible native bushfoods.
Native Oz Bushfoods makes a variety of products including, jams, salt mixes and sauces. They also supply dried and fresh leaves and nuts to customers around Australia. This includes aniseed, lemon myrtle, saltbush, Warrigal greens, native thyme, Bunya nuts, and native limes.
