Based in the Ropeley Valley on forty acres originally farming cattle and sheep, due to the drought Doug and Tracey moved out of necessity into the native food industry. Seeing a gap in the market for sustainable native food production. Taking the initiative, they started researching, trialling, harvesting and buying various edible native plants and seeds. This included plants such as the Desert Quandong (native peach), Saltbush, and various edible wattles. Trialling plants they were told would not grow in in SEQ Native Oz Bushfood also now grow Kakadu Plum (Gubinge) and Tasmanian Mountain Pepper.
